LUKoil to hold talks on refinery construction in Europe
LUKoil plans to begin negotiations with its American strategic partner ConocoPhillips and some other large companies on participation in a joint construction of an oil refinery plant in one of the European cities, the Russian company's President Vagit Alekperov told journalists today. According to him, LUKoil is poised to refine heavy crude oil on the prospective refinery in Europe. The Russian oil giant will transport crude oil to Europe through Vysotsk seaport. For this purpose the company will build a new railroad stretch by 2013. Alekperov said that LUKoil had already agreed with Russian Railways on the expansion of the infrastructure in order to transport 12m tonnes of oil through the seaport.
