RF Transport Ministry to suspend unification of tariffs for transportation to Russian ports and border crossings
To support competitiveness of Russian seaports Transport Ministry of RF considers it is necessary to suspendunification of tariffs for cargo transportation to Russian ports and border crossings for two year, Alexander Misharin, deputy Minister of Transport told at the meeting of Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport according to RZD-Partner.
The work on gradual narrowing of the gap between the tariffs for transportation of cargo to Russian ports and border crossings through annual differentiated indexation of tariff rates of part 2 of the rate schedule No 10-01 under fixed tariffs of part 3 at the level of 2004 aimed at prevention of further re-distribution of cargo flow, has been carried out by RF FST jointly with related federal executive authorities from 2005. Deputy Minister of Transport thinks unification was one of the causes resulting in decrease of cargo transshipment in Russian seaports. The above proposal of the Ministry is not likely to come into effect this year as RF FST has already adopted a decision concerning differentiated indexation of tariff rates for railway transportation of cargo via Russian ports (rates of part 2 of the rate schedule No 10-01) by 10.9%, without changing tariffs for cargo transportation to border crossings (rates of part 3 of the rate schedule No 10-01).
