Hamburg Sud makes its Trident Service weekly
Hamburg Sud has announced that starting March 9 its Trident Service, linking Northern Europe with Australia/New Zealand via the US Atlantic, will be upgraded to become a weekly service owing to strong demand since its launch a year ago.
Extra six ships will be deployed on the new weekly fixed-day service, raising the total number of vessels plying this route to 12.
Each containership has a capacity of 2,500 TEU and is fitted with 450 reefer plugs to enable Hamburg Sud to accommodate the steady growth in customer demand for reefer shipments.
The port rotation for the upgraded Trident Service remains unchanged: Tilbury, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Philadelphia, Savannah, Cartagena, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Timaru, Napier, Tauranga, Cartagena, Savannah, Philadelphia and back to Tilbury.
The Trident Service includes a stop at the hub port of Cartagena in Colombia to provide a fast connection to other Hamburg Sud services, a company statement said.
The first sailing from Europe (southbound) in the weekly rhythm will be undertaken by the Cap Beatrice, voyage number 710, departing from Tilbury on March 9.
The first weekly departure northbound will be launched by the Cape Martin, departing Sydney on April 5.
