V.Ships and IMC end Asian venture
After a brief two year marriage V.Ships and IMC have decided to call time on their Singapore-based marine services joint venture, V.Ships (Asia) MSI.The company currently manages over 80 vessels and employs approximately 130 shore-based staff. .
In a brief statement issued yesterday V.Ships said that it was still in discussions over the future management of the vessels but any decision will take ‘full account of owners’ wishes.
Industry insiders have previously indicated to Lloyd’s List that the close association with IMC has meant it was challenging for the joint venture to build a client base of new owners.
The statement said that both parties would continue to explore cooperation across a number of projects.
