MOL, COSCO Team up to Launch “MOL Class” at Dalian Maritime University
TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced that the company has established the “MOL Class” at China’s Dalian Maritime University, tying up with COSCO Dalian(Dalian Ocean Shipping Co.). MOL will promote the development of cadet seafarers who should play a key role in improving the safety and efficiency of maritime operations.
MOL offers its unique safety education and practical training on MOL-operated vessels in MOL Classes to be opened at maritime universities around the world. This allows the company to promote its basic stance of “Safety is the Top Priority” from the beginning of the training process.

MOL offers high-level education and training and recruits Chinese seafarers who serve aboard MOL-operated vessels through,
(1) Utilize COSCO Dalian’s track record and know-how in training tanker officers and crew members.
(2) Collaborate with China’s leading seafarer education and educational facilities of Dalian Maritime University.
