Maersk Line sees 15 pct market growth in Asia-Europe lines
AP Moller-Maersk's Maersk Line sees market growth of 15 pct for its shipping routes between Asia and Europe in 2007, and will increase its capacity on the lines by 13 pct, Maersk Southeast Asia chief executive Morten Engelstoft said, according to Direkt newswire.
Engelstoft welcomed rising shipping rates, which are needed to offset higher fuel and land carriage costs, Direkt said.
Engelstoft said Maersk Line has too much capacity in the Pacific and has cut its capacity in that region by 8 pct even though it sees activity rising in the area, Direkt reported.
