Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard to build chemical tankers for Palmali Shipping
Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, MNP Group, signed in Istanbul the contract with Palmali Shipping for construction of ten chemical tankers DWT 6,900 mt. Preliminary delivery date of five tankers project PST22 is year 2008, of other five vessels – year 2009.
Maximum length of the vessel is 139.95 m, breadth – 16.60 m, depth – 6.0 m, depth – 4.60 m, capacity of cargo tanks – 7,800 cubic m, main engine power - 2х1200 kW, speed – 10.5 knots. Class of the tanker is - KM*ЛУ1 II А1 of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. The design was worked out by Marine Design Bureau (Odessa, Ukraine). The vessels obtain additional sign in the class symbol – EKO Project. This sign is indicative of additional requirements for pollution prevention at accidents. Environmentally safe vessels find credence of freight owners, maritime administration, and port authorities.
MNP Group and Palmali Shipping co-operate since 2003, when Volgograd Shipyard signed the contract for construction of seven dry-cargo ships project 006RSD05. The last vessel of the project – “Zafira Aliyeva” - was delivered to the customer in November, 2006. In 2005 the British Royal Society of the marine architects acknowledged the dry-cargo ships projects 006RSD05, built at Volgograd Shipyard for Palmali Shipping, the best among the vessels of this class. At present Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, builds for Palmali five dry-cargo ships project RSD17, the third vessel of the project – “Shirvan” – was launched in February. State-of-the-art structural solutions were applied at these vessels.
