Cargo turnover of the First Container Terminal CJSC grew over 9 months of 2006 by 22.6% to 643 653 TEU
Cargo turnover of the First Container Terminal (FCT) in January-September 2006 amounted to 643 653 TEU, year-on-year growth – 22.6%. This information has been provided by the company’s press release. Cargo turnover of the company grew in the third quarter of 2006 by 23.2% as compared with year-on-year result to 236 207 TEU. In September 2006 the terminal handled 81 480 TEU (or 47 411 units) – year-on-year growth – 27.3%. Turnover of refrigerator containers amounted to 9 232 TEU (+43.7% as compared with September of 2005). Export amounted to 40 886 TEU, import – 40 594 TEU. 64 vessels were handled at the terminal over the reported period, average turnover per vessel amounted to 1 273 TEU.
FCT CJSC is a specialized container terminal located at the port of Saint Petersburg. It is managed by the National Container Company. Today FCT is the leader among the companies handling container cargoes in Russia and in the region of the Baltic Sea. FCT applies modern loading equipment for handling large containers as well as unique information system for terminal management. In 2005 cargo turnover of the terminal amounted to 722 427 TEU.
