Transfenica opens new ro-ro service in the port of Saint Petersburg
Transfenica company has opened today, on October 2, new ro-ro service (international transport line) at the berths of Petrolesport OJSC in the port of Saint Petersburg. Как передает корреспондент ИААПортНьюс», the new line will operate at the line between Saint Petersburg (Petrolesport) – port of Lubeck (Germany) with the call to Hamina port (Finland) on its way back. As Transfenica's representatives told to PortNews IAA, they plan to use the Karolin Russ vessel at the line. Its capacity is 7 thou tons or 104 rolling trailers. The vessel shall call into Saint Petersburg twice a week. Then the line is to be extended to the ports of Antwerp (Belgium) and Tilbury (Great Britain).
Transfenica company was founded in 1976 for transportation of products manufactured by Finland’s timber industry. Today the company is a line carrier. Transfenica’s headquarters is located in Helsinki (Finland). The company owns a high-speed fleet of ro-ro class with vessels’ average age not exceeding 10 years.
