AADA to lower bunker surcharge
SHIPPING lines participating in the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) have announced that the bunker surcharge levied on shipments from China and Hong Kong bound for ports in Australia will be lowered later this month to reflect the recent decrease in the price of oil in Hong Kong and South Korea.
From October 13 the bunker surcharge level will be adjusted downwards from US$275 to $250 per TEU, while the surcharge per FEU will be reduced by $50 to $500 for dry and refrigerated containers, a statement issued on behalf of AADA members said.
AADA members are: ANL Container Line, China Shipping Container Line (HK), Coscon, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, HMM, "K" Line, Maersk Line, MSC, MOL, NYK Line, OOCL, and Gold Star Line (HK) (ZIM line).
