MOL restructures management following string of accidents
MOL is adapting the duties of its executive officer by placing this individual exclusively in charge of marine safety in a bid to significantly enhance the safety of such operations in the wake a string of serious accidents at sea.
As a result of this decision, Soichi Hiratsuka, the new executive officer for marine safety has replaced the former executive officer and general manager of the marine management division.
At the same time, the Japanese transportation giant has also appointed Masaaki Nemoto to assume the new post of general manager for the marine management division. He will be taking over the responsibilities of the former general manager of the marine safety group and marine management division, a company statement said.
