Eurogate eyes Shenzhen port investment opportunities
EUROPE's largest container port operator Eurogate has revealed it is interested in investing in China's Port of Shenzhen.
Emanuel Schiffer, president of the Germany-headquartered container operator, was cited in a Xinhua report as saying that Eurogate is looking for mainland China partners and is waiting for the right to time to have talks with domestic companies on ways to co-operate at the Port of Shenzhen.
"Shenzhen's port and logistics industry is undergoing astonishingly fast development. We are confident about the prospect of this market," said Mr Schiffer during a recent visit to Shanghai.
Eurogate owns nine container terminals in ports across Europe.
