Taganrog Sea Commercial Port handled 857,000 tonnes in 10M’2018, down 7% Y-o-Y
In the 10-months period of 2019, Taganrog Sea Commercial Port JSC handled 857,000 tonnes of cargo, down 7%, year-on-year, the company says in a press release.
According to the statement, the decrease should be attributed to unfavorable situation in foreign trade markets dealing with the port’s key types of cargo, coal and grain.
Handling of general cargo increased by 19% to 138,000 tonnes. Transshipment of ferrous metal grew by 12% to 66,000 tonnes, big-bags and boxes – by 27% to 72,000 tonnes.
Transshipment of dry bulk and loose cargo totaled 623,000 tonnes (-18%), transshipment of grain - 205,000 tonnes (-24%), ore – 47,000 tonnes (-23%), coal - 336,000 tonnes (-19%), furnace coke – 35,000 tonnes (this cargo was not handled in 2018).
In the reporting period, positive dynamics was demonstrated in the segment of liquid bulk cargo – up 88% to 93,000 tonnes.
Container throughput of TagSCP totaled 1,000 TEUs (2,200 tonnes), down 28%, year-on-year.
In January-October 2018, TagSCP handled 665,000 tonnes of export cargo and 70,000 tonnes of import cargo. Coastal trade cargo handling totaled 122,000 tonnes. Exports and imports accounted for 78% and 8% of the company’s total throughput with domestic shipments making 14%.
In the reporting period, Taganrog Sea Commercial Port handled 8,840 railcars and 224 vessels.

The company operates at the port’s Berths No 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8. In 2018, TSCP handled 1.25 million tonnes of cargo.
