Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after A.M. Gorky lays down two Ice3 class buoy tenders of Project BLV03
On 25 October 2019, Tatarstan, Russia based Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after A.M. Gorky held a keel-laying ceremony for two Ice3 class buoy tenders of Project BLV03, which are to be deployed for operation in the Northern Sea Route waters, Rosatom told IAA PortNews.
The ships are intended for installation, servicing and delivery of aids to navigation, radio equipment and specialists as well as other activities in the framework of hydrographic support of navigation on the Northern Sea Route.
The construction of two vessels exceeds RUB 1 billion.
The ships will be built under the programme on construction and modernization of Hydrographic Company’s fleet in the framework of the federal project “Northern Sea Route” covered by the comprehensive plan for upgrading and expanding core infrastructure till 2024 developed in pursuance of RF President’s Decree No 204 “On national goals and strategic tasks of the Russian Federation for the period till 2024”.
FSUE Hydrographic Company of Rosatom is in charge of port infrastructure development and safe navigation on the Northern Sea Route.
Earlier, on 18 October 2019, Balakovsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant (Saratov Region) laid down two Ice 3 class survey boats of Project Е35.Г, Yury Babayev and Yury Osokin, also intended for Hydrographic Company.
The ships of Project BLV03 were designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
Key particulars of the BLV03 buoy tenders: length - 35 m, width – about 10 m, draft – 2.5 m. Each ship is to be equipped with two 895-kW main engines and two pod propulsion units. Full speed - 12 knots. Crew – 10 with a possibility for accommodation of 4 personnel members.
According to Marine Engineering Bureau, the buoy tenders are named Aleksandr Parfeonov and Vsevolod Peresypkin.
