Latest frigate Admiral Kasatonov enters shipbuilder’s trials final phase
The Russian Navy’s newest frigate Admiral Kasatonov Project 22350 and the second ship of the Admiral Gorshkov class will enter within a week the final phase of shipbuilder’s sea trials in designated ranges of the Baltic Sea, the Russian Ministry of Defense press office said.
The shipbuilder’s sea trials program is carried out in close collaboration with teams of the United Shipbuilding Corporation and Severnaya Verf Shipyard.
The frigate’s crew underwent comprehensive training at the Navy’s Joint Training Centre for carrying out all stages of the tests program and the further operation of on-board equipment and weaponry.
In September, the frigate will commence state acceptance sea trials.
The lead ship of Project 22350 frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov was handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense in July 2018.
