Amphibious ships of RF Navy’s Northern Fleet take part in drills in the Barents Sea
A mine-laying group made up of the large amphibious ships Alexandr Otrakovsky and Georgiy Pobedonosets, Kola Flotilla, Northern Fleet, has sailed off to the Barents Sea to practice minelaying operations at the naval test sites, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Afterwards they will also train to defend the detachment by gunfire from attacks of small high-speed boats.
The combat training tasks in the Barents Sea is carried out within the framework of the final check for the winter training period and will last several days. More than 15 warships and boats of the Northern Fleet are operating simultaneously at sea within the drills.
