Shipping Company “BashVolgotanker” starts its navigation season
Shipping Company “BashVolgotanker” says it opened the navigation season on April 1 with the Volgoneft-266 tanker having left the Rostov-on-Don for this year’s first voyage.
The first tanker loading will take place in the nearest days at Saratov oil terminal. The Volgoneft-152 will be loaded with oil products bound for port Kavkaz.
In 2019, BashVolgotanker is set to maintain the level of the previous year when it carried 1.8 million tonnes of light and dark oil products. The bulk of cargo will be shipped from Bashkortostan where navigation is expected to begin on April 18 depending on ice situation. Upgraded barges of Belskaya type assisted by pusher tugs of Ural type will be loaded with cargo which is then to be transshipped onto tankers bound for Kavkaz and Saint-Petersburg.
Within a month the fleet of BashVolgotanker is to be put into operation for the new navigation period. The company will involve about 100 units of tanker and ATB fleet.
Shipping Company “BashVolgotanker” was set up in 1948 in Ufa and reorganized into a joint stock company in 1996. 99.9% of its shares are held by OJSC Volgotanker. The company's fleet consists of ATB units, tankers of mixed sea/river navigation and harbor transshipment facilities. Apart from oil cargo transportation, BashVolgotanker offers services o transshipment of dark oil products, towing of ships, stripping of tankers, chartering out of ships.
