Member states of Eurasian Economic Commission sign Agreement on Shipping
Member states of the Eurasian Economic Commission signed an Agreement on Shipping at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Almaty (Kazakhstan) on 1 February 2019, says press center of EEC.
According to the statement, the Agreement will help member states of EEC develop an integrated transport area and common market of water transport services. That will facilitate fulfillment of transit potential and development of transport complexes.
The document simplifies the access of EEC-flagged ships to inland water ways of other member states due to transition from the authorization system to the notification system.
The Agreement also ensures mutual recognition of ship documentation as well as masters’ and crewmembers’ certificates.
The document confirms the right for two-way transportation of cargo, passengers and luggage between the member states by EEC-flagged ships by common inland water ways as well as IWW transit.
