Taganrog Sea Commercial Port spent USD 67,300 for its environmental programme in 9M’2018, up 6% YoY
In the 9-months period of 2018, Taganrog Sea Commercial Port (TagSCP, a company of UCL Holding) allocated USD 67,300 for implementation of its environmental programme, up 6% as compared with the same period of the previous year.
As part of its industrial control programme, the company performs regular monitoring of the port’s key environmental impact indicators to ensure compliance with ecological and sanitary regulations. In particular, the package of measures aimed at protection of water resources includes regular control of coastal zone management, sampling, bacteriological analysis and monitoring of seawater quality. To prevent possible pollution of the port’s water area the company ensured permanent readiness of the emergency response team to oil spill response activities.
As part of air protection activities, the company performed air pollution measurements and analysis of samples taken at workplaces and in residential areas neighboring the port territory. The monitoring performed in QIII’2018 confirmed that dust content in air within residential area neighboring the port did not exceed the limit.
To comply with the sanitary-epidemiological requirements on industrial waste management the company ensured timely removal of waste from its territory and its disposal.
