Glavgosexpertiza approves design estimate documentation for construction of Zhatai Shipyard
Khabarovsk branch of Glavgosexpertiza (Russia’s Main Department of State Expertise) has approved design estimate documentation for construction of Zhatai Shipyard, says press center of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Government.
The approval is needed for the federal co-financing of the project implementation in the amount of RUB 4.106.2 billion as foreseen by the State Programme “Social and Economic Development of RF Arctic Zone”. The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Transport are in charge of the project implementation. Co-financing in the amount of RUB 750 million has been approved by the state programme “Development of Transport Complex of SR (Y) in 2018-2022” with RUB 894.5 million expected from non-budget sources.
A comprehensive investment project “Modernization and development of Russian facilities on construction of a state-of-the-art river fleet for inland water ways (Zhatai Shipyard)” is to ensure non-stop cargo traffic on inland water ways in the Lena Basin and the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (including the deliveries to the Far North) involving a fleet upgraded by a hi-tech Zhatai Shipyard in cooperation with other shipbuilding and machine building companies of the Russian Federation.
Implementation of large-scale investment projects in the Sakha Republic will increase the cargo base of the Lena Basin’s IWW.
Outbound transportation of goods of domestic origin is forecasted to grow from 200 tonnes in 2016 to 290,600 tonnes in 2030; inbound transportation – from 322,100 tonnes in 2016 to 705,000 tonnes in 2030.
