Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg completes New Leaders project
Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb, a company of UCL Holding) says it has finalized the New Leaders programme aimed at management personnel development and mid-tier executives succession pipeline. That is a pilot project of UCL Holding. When the project results are summarized a decision will be taken on expanding this practice of young managers development to other companies of the group.
The applicants had undergone tests and individual interviews at the Personnel Department of SP SPb to select 20 participants of the programme. Throughout a year, they were learning management skills being trained by key managers of UCL Holding and leading experts of consulting company Ecopsy, a partner of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg.
Apart from training, the programme covered the development of projects focused on improvement of corporate culture and economic efficiency, looking for environmental and logistics solutions. For that purpose, the future leaders set up four working groups. The jury consisting of UCL Holding’s top managers and Ecopsy's representatives acknowledged the Corporate Culture Transformation project as the winner. In the nearest time, the company is going to put into practice this and other projects: Storage of Non-Ferrous Metal, Waste Disposal and Stock Management.
Vladislav Zhukov, Managing Director of SP SPb, emphasized high skills obtained by the New Leaders programme participants: “The training provided each of them with new skills and competences which will be surely useful in both professional and ordinary life. In the result, the programme participants having elaborated certain issues successfully presented interesting and to a large extent pioneering projects. That is our company’s new experience which has already proved its efficiency. Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg will continue development of its employees’ competence through participation in new educational programmes”.
“The core of any organization is people. UCL Holding, like any other dynamically developing business, has always appreciated proactive, dedicated and result-oriented personnel. When improving our infrastructure, mastering new technologies and introducing the best practices we lay key hope on our employees. Their efforts push the Holding companies to a higher quality level”, Valery Feodorov, Executive Director of UCL Holding’s managing company, said in respect of the programme implementation.
