ARCTIC LNG 3 project's engineering surveys slated for Jul – Oct, 2019
Engineering surveys for the project "Construction of the Prospecting & Appraisal Well 2 in the North-Obskiy License Block" ("ARTIC LNG-3") will be carried out between July and October 2019, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region administration PR department told PortNews.
The other day a presentation and discussion have been held at the Department of Natural Resources Management, Forestry and Oil&Gas Development, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of scope of works for the engineering survey of the wildcat & evaluation well construction (PE-2) in the North -Obsky LB project. The Customer is Arctic LNG-3 LLC, Contractor – Fertoying LLC.
The site is located in the Ob Bay basin, within the Severo-Obsky license block. The nearest inhabited location is the village of Sabetta,141 km south-west of the operations area. To perform engineering, geophysical, engineering, hydrometeorological and ecological surveys, the Nikolai Chudotvorets vessel was deployed. Drilling in the water area is performed by the non-self-propelled Amur 4, which is towed by the tug Anatoly Baidanov.
The engineering surveys in the Obskaya Guba of wildcat & appraisal well will be carried out in two phases. Phase 1: engineering and hydrographic works and sonar survey on the site with sides of 5,000 m. Phase 2: engineering, geological, hydrometeorological, ecological, geophysical surveys on the site with sides of 3,000 m.
As the works area is bordered by the North Yamal site of the regional State Biological Reserve "Yamalsky", this be taken into account when carrying out prospecting works.
Experienced contractor in engineering projects Fetoying LLC was awarded the contract to perform engineering surveys. All wastes generated during the works will be collected on ships and transferred to dedicated organizations.
The participants of the meeting consider the engineering surveys as permissible and compliant with Russian legislation requirements.
