RF Ministry of Industry is against Rosrybolovstvo's suggestion to compensate 25% of total costs for construction of small fishing ships
Rosrybolovstvo (Russian Federal Fisheries Agency) suggests compensating 25% of total costs for construction of small fishing ships not covered by the “keel quotas” programme, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Rosrybolovstvo head Peotr Savchuk as sayig at the meeting of the interdepartmental working group on fishing ships construction matters.
According to Rosrybolovstvo, the demand for such ships in 2019-2030 is estimated at 70-100 units for a total of RUB 16.5-23.25 billion while state support under this initiative is to total RUB 4.1-5.8 billion.
As Nikolai Shablikov, Deputy Head of the Department of Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, RF Ministry of Industry and Trade, said at the meeting, the compensation suggested by Rosrybolovstvo (25%) is too high as compared with the subsidies applied to cover loan and leasing interest rates in the segments of cargo and passenger fleet применяемой 10% and 15% accordingly. Besides, the limit of the suggested measure of support is not specified while its corruption element is very large.
That is why the Ministry of Industry and Trade does not support the idea of Rosrybolovstvo, said Nikolai Shablikov.
