Blagoveshchensk shipyard launched hydrographic vessel Aleksandr Rogotsky built for RF Navy’s Pacific Fleet
Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region based shipyard named after October Revolution has launched the Aleksandr Rogotsky, hydrographic survey vessel built for RF Navy’s Pacific Fleet, says press center of Amur Region Government.
The ship is named after Admiral Aleksandr Rogotsky, war veteran, hydrographer.
According to Vyacheslav Popov, Director of the shipyard, the vessel’s length has neared the limit of the shipyard’s capacity. The construction began in 2016 after the shipyard delivered three 34-meter long hydrographic boats to the Pacific Fleet in 2013-2015. The new ship is 59 meters long and 12 meters wide. The crew numbers 22 crewmembers.
The contract signed with RF Ministry of Defense is to be completed before 2020. However, the shipyard has fulfilled the order two years ahead of schedule.
The ship will leave for Vladivostok in August. Upon completion of fitting out and tests the ship will be delivered to the customer.
Blagoveshchensk shipyard is the key supplier of dedicated ships for hydrographic service of RF Navy’s Pacific Fleet.
The shipyard in Blagoveshchensk was founded in 1887. Today, it specializes in building small fishing ships, mid-size catching vessels and auxiliary ships for RF Navy. Recent years have seen the delivery of four hydrographic boats of Project 10920to the Pacific Fleet of RF Navy. The ships are deployed for operation in Primorje, at Sakhalin and Kamchatka. Production facilities of the shipyard let it build the ships with length of 75 meter and more, width of 14 meters and more, unloaded displacement of 1,500 tonnes and more.
