Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports in HI’18 fell by 3.1% Y-o-Y to 53.8 million tonnes
In January-June 2018, seaports of Ukraine handled 63.8 million tonnes of cargo, down 3.1%, year-on-year, says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
The decrease should be attributed to the fall of grain exports (-10.3%) and ore exports (-26.5%).
Total transshipment of export cargo fell by 8.9% to 46.1 million tonnes. The highest growth in this segment was shown by ferrous metal – 8.1 million tonnes (+16.5%).
Transshipment of import cargo grew by 18.7% to almost 11 million tonnes including 3.7 million tonnes of ore (+19.7%) and 2.8 million tonnes of coal (+10.7%).
In the reporting period transit grew by 7.9% to 5.8 million tonnes.
Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine grew by 11% to 391,000 TEUs.
From the beginning of 2018, seaports of Ukraine handled 5,848 vessels (up 3.1%, year-on-year).
Passenger turnover totaled 177,272 including 154,128 domestic passengers and 23,144 foreign passengers).
