Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant launches Svetlyak-class patrol boat Balaklava
PAO Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant says it held a ceremonial launching of Svetlyak-class patrol boat of Project 10410 (hull number 809) on 17 July 2018.
The ship named Balaklava and intended for Crimean coast guard of FSB Border Service was laid down on 15 June 2017.
Upon completion of necessary procedures the boat will leave for Sevastopol, where it will be fitted out, tested and delivered to the customer.
Construction of Svetlyak-class boats, Project 10410, began in the second half of 1980-ies. The vessel was designed at Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau for patrolling of sea borders. The oat’s displacement is 375 tonnes, length – almost 50 meters, speed – at least 28 knots. The boat features state-of-the-art radio and navigation equipment.
The first series of Project 10410 boats built by Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant (six units) was delivered to border service between 1990 and 1994.
Two more boats joined the fleet in 2007 and 2012. The ninth boat launched yesterday will be delivered to the customer in 2018.
PJSC Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant (Yaroslavsky Shipyard, managed by JSC FINSUDPROM) is located in the central part of Russia on the Volga River. The shipyard was incorporated in 1993. The company specializes in the construction of civil and naval ships. Yaroslavlsky Shipyard has been for many years one of the major suppliers of sea / ocean-going tugs for Russian law enforcement agencies. The company has built so far 76 ocean-going tugs, mainly of Projects 745 and 1454, and modifications.
The shipyard’s current backlog of orders includes 5 seagoing tugs of project 23470 for RF Defence Ministry, 1 patrol boat of Project 10410 for Patrol Service of Russia’s FSB, 6 boom-laying launches of Project А40–2Б-ЯР for State Customer’s Directorate, three survey ships of Project 3330 for FSI RechVodPut, a multi-purpose boat of project 02220, Yaroslavets – М, for FSB, two boom-laying boats of Project А40–2Б-ЯР and one oil recovery vessel of Project Р2114 for AO Transneft Kama Region, one diving boat of Project 02220 Yaroslavets-МВ for AO Transneft-Podvodservis.
