AIDA launches 2018 cruise season in Rostock
On April 26, 2018, AIDAdiva will launch this year's AIDA season on the banks of the Warnow. Two AIDA ships are due to dock here a total of 43 times, the company said in its press release.
With AIDAdiva's arrival on Thursday, April 26, 2018, AIDA Cruises will open its 2018 cruise season in Rostock. AIDAdiva spent the winter season in the Caribbean and will reach her home base for the coming summer in the early morning after crossing the Atlantic via the Canaries.
To start off, AIDAdiva will be offering three 4-day taster cruises to Visby and Stockholm before she begins her regular 10-day cruises to the gems of the Baltic. The highlight of the cruise will be a two-day stay in St. Petersburg. Guests will have the opportunity to either attend an evening concert by the Hermitage Orchestra being staged exclusively for AIDA or, if they wish, to explore the Russian capital. Moscow's countless sights include the Kremlin, the Old Town, the Arbat shopping boulevard, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Bolshoi Theater and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, to name but a few.
The AIDA highlights in Warnemünde this year include the arrivals between August 9–12, 2018, for the Hanse Sail – the world's biggest gathering of sailing and traditional ships – and the first Rostock Cruise Festival from September 14–16, 2018. AIDA will be presenting itself both on water and on land for the Rostock Cruise Festival. "We are delighted that as a premium partner of the first Rostock Cruise Festival, we will be providing further important growth momentum to the cruise location of Rostock. Major maritime events such as this one help to win over new target groups across generations for this unique type of vacation," says Hansjörg Kunze, Vice President Communication & Sustainability. With more than 40 calls, AIDA Cruises will once again be the Hanseatic City of Rostock's biggest cruise partner in 2018, and an important economic factor for the region as a whole.
Apart from AIDAdiva, AIDAmar will also be bringing many vacationers to Warnemünde. She will visit for the first time this year Warnemünde on Saturday, May 5, 2018, spending the summer sailing one-week cruises in the Baltic. Her seven-day round trips in the Baltic will be taking in destinations such as Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm.
