Russian Railways: Loading of export cargo bound for domestic ports up 4.6% to 76.8 million tonnes in QI’2018
Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 4.6%, year-on-year, to 76.8 million tonnes in January-March 2018.
In particular, coal loading grew by 4.5%, ferrous metal – by 5.8%, fertilizers – by 12.3%, grain – by 44.4%, paper – by 5.1%, timber – by 18.3%.
Coal accounts for 44.2% of exports, oil – for 28%, ferrous metal – for 9.4%, fertilizers – for 6.7%, grain – for 4%.
In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region totaled 33.3 million tonnes (+12.3%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region - 19.3 million tonnes (-3.7%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 24.2 million tonnes (+2.3%).
