Commercial Port of Vladivostok throughput up 50% Y-o-Y to 2.4 mln t in 3M’18
Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV, part of FESCO Transportation Group) says its throughput in QI’2018 grew by 50%, year-on-year, having reached 2.4 million tonnes.
The stevedoring company says it is record high result in the history of CPV.
In the reporting period, container throughput of the port grew by 17%, year-on-year, to 111,000 TEUs, transshipment of general cargo surged by 110% to 1.3 million tonnes, automobiles and special equipment – by 112% to 13,200 t.
Zairbek Yusupov, Director General of CPV, expects this growth to let the company achieve a new record of annual transshipment – about 10 million tonnes of cargo.
In 2017, CPV expanded the capacity of its warehouses, purchased 24 units of handling equipment, increased the capacity of grain storage facilities and reduced average time which containers spend at the port.
According to the statement, average daily handling of railcars in QI’2018 grew by 31%, from 347 units in QI’2017 to 456 units in January-March 2018.
