Russian Railways' network loading up 3.5% to 315.7 million tonnes in Jan-Mar'18
In January-March 2018, the network of Russian Railways loaded 315.7 bln t of cargo, up 3.5%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 94.3 million tonnes (+3.6%, year-on-year,); coke – 2.7 million tonnes (-1.1%); crude and oil products – 60.2 million tonnes (-1.7%); iron and manganese ore – 27.2 million tonnes (+2.5%); ferrous metal – 19.8 million tonnes (+10.8%); ferrous metal scrap – 2.5 million tonnes (-11.6%); chemicals and mineral fertilizers – 15.3 million tonnes (+6.5%); cement – 4.5 million tonnes (-2.5%); timber – 11.4 million tonnes (+5.4%); grain – 7.1 million tonnes (+42.1%); construction cargo – 28.7 million tonnes (+3%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 4.8 million tonnes (-4.2%); chemicals and soda – 6.8 million tonnes (+1.1%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 8.3 million tonnes (+6.6%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 636.2billion tariff ton-km (+4.6%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 811.7 billion ton-km (+4.1%).
In March, loading totaled 112.4 million tonnes (+3.1%). Freight turnover in March totaled 224.2 billion tariff ton-km (+4.2%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 285.7 billion ton-km (+4.1%).
