Annual capacity of Russian ports to grow by 28 million tonnes in 2018
In 2018, annual capacity of Russian ports is planned to grow by 28 million tonnes, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Victor Olersky, Deputy Transport Minister of Russia – head of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot), as saying at the final meeting of Rosmorrechflot’s Board and Public Council.
According to him, the capacity will increase particularly with the commissioning of the port Sabetta’s Phase 2 (8 million tonnes per year), development of Murmansk port (2 million tonnes per year) and development of port facilities at the ports of Novorossiysk, Azov and Taman as well as the ports of the Baltic basin.
The highest deficit of port facilities is seen in the segments of grain, mineral fertilizers and ore transshipment.
