Throughput of port Helsinki (Finland) in 2M'18 up 16.7% Y-o-Y to 2.53 million tonnes (table)
In January-February 2018, the Port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 2.53 million tonnes of cargo (+16.7%, year-on-year), the port authority says.
Transshipment of bulk cargo grew by 45.1% to 500,840 tonnes, container throughput grew by 10.6% to 64,310 TEUs. Turnover of trucks and semitrailers increased by 13.8% to 48,110 units.
Passenger traffic climbed by 1.3% to 678,320 passengers. The number of calls grew by 11.4% - to 1.26 million.
The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea. The Port of Helsinki accounts for 77% of Finland's passenger traffic. In 2017, the port handled 14.27 mln t of cargo (+14.2%, year-on-year).
