Admiralteiskie Verfi to build six trawlers for Russian Fishery Company (photo)
On 25 October 2017, Admiralteiskie Verfi (United Shipbuilding Corporation) and Russian Fishery Company signed contracts for construction of six trawlers of Project СТ-192, with an option for two more trawlers, says press center of USC.
The first trawler is to be built within a three-year period. The sixth ship is to be delivered to the customer in 2023. The contract price exceeds RUB 37 bln. The ships will be built under the state programme of ‘investment quotas’.
Russian Fishery Company currently operates 12 large trawlers and two refrigerator ships with average age of 30 years. The company high-speed made a decision to replace the ships with new ones of higher ice class and performance.
Key characteristics of СТ-192 RFC: length – 108.2 m, breadth – 21 m, displacement (loaded) – 11,873 t, deadweight (loaded ) – 5,332 t, ice class - ICE 1 A.
Admiralteiskie Verfi OJSC (Admiralty Shipyards) is a key enterprise of shipbuilding, a centre of conventional submarine building of Russia. The shipyard is affiliated with the United Shipbuilding Corporation OJSC. A number of contracts are being successfully implemented at the shipyard for domestic and foreign customers. Four series of submarines are under construction now for RF and foreign Navies. Besides, icebreaker Ilya Muromets is under construction. The Company’s staff numbers 6,500 persons. On 5 November 2016 the shipyard celebrated 312 years from its foundation.
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises 40 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates the bulk of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
Russian Fishery Company (RFC) is a rapidly developing commercial fishing enterprise established in 2011 by a group of Russian private investors aiming to consolidate fishing assets in different regions of Russia. The Company’s 11 fishing vessels, including Captain Oleynichuk, Vladivostok, Borodino and Berezina, are well suited to work in all fishing areas and under all climate conditions. They are equipped with modern state-of-the-art technological equipment from the leading international suppliers that enable the vessels to harvest different types of seafood. The primary fishing target species are Alaska Pollock and Pacific Herring. The Company also catches laemonema and crab. The Company owns a warehouse and a docking facility in Vladivostok that allows the Company to carry out technical maintenance of the fleet in between voyages at minimum costs.
