FESCO and "RZD Logistics" agree to cooperate on development of cargo transportation services
FESCO Transportation Group and JSC RZD Logistics signed a memorandum of cooperation on cargo transportation.
FESCO says the document was signed by Alexander Isurin, President of FESCO, and Vyacheslav Valentik, Director General of RZD Logistics, in the framework of the International Rail Business Forum "1520 Strategic Partnership".
According to the document, FESCO and RZD Logistics will jointly develop transportation services in Russia. The partners will mutually share assets and expertise and jointly review export logistics routes to increase export transportation in Russia. FESCO in its turn will provide RZD Logistics with its rolling stock, containers and other assets, as well as services at the port of Vladivostok and at inland terminals.
The partners noted that the cooperation allows to ensure the high-class services and to develop the technology of intermodal transportation, thereby managing customer needs.
"Now we are actively working with the Russian export center and our partners from RZD Logistics on efficient logistics solutions for the non-commodity Russian export. FESCO's expertise in the transportation of perishable products allows us to offer food-producing companies sustainable service that we can also apply to other cargoes," said Alexander Isurin.
"I am confident that our global cooperation with FESCO will positively affect cargo volumes carried by both sides. We are talking about export, import and transit shipments, including handling in the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port. As for non-commodity export, we are planning to add our block train with FESCO’s refrigerated containers. We will also expand our cooperation in bulk cargo, e.g. metals, which includes transshipment in the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port, " said Vyacheslav Valentik.
