Throughput of Russian seaports in Jan-March'17 up 9.5% Y-o-Y to 183.3 mln t
In January-March 2017, Russian seaports handled 183.3 mln t of cargo (+9.5%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 80.1 mln t (+9.3%) including 33.8 mln t of coal (+15.8%), 11.0 mln t of containerized cargo (+10.6%), 8.2 mln t of grain (+14.0%), 7.2 mln t of ferrous metal (+3.3%), 4.1 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+4.3%), 0.7 mln t of refrigerated cargo (+6.8%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 103.2 mln t (+9.7%) including 61.4 mln t of crude oil (+10.3%), 36.8 mln t of oil products (+7.9%) and 3.8 mln t of liquefied gas (+15.2%).
Exports totaled 144.7 mln t (+6.7%), imports - 7.9 mln t (+9.1%), transit - 13.8 mln t (+7.8%), short-sea traffic – 16.9 mln t (+44.2%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 15.8 mln t of cargo, up 1.6 times, year-on-year. Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 10.0 mln t (up 2.5 times), dry bulk cargo - 5.8 mln t (-3.1%). The port of Murmansk handled 11.4 mln t (up 1.7 times), Varandei - 2.2 mln t (+13.7%).
The ports of the Baltic Sea Basin handled 61.5 mln t (+7.9%) including 23.2 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+14.2%) and 38.3 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+4.4%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 24.4 mln t (+9.1%), Primorsk - 16.5 mln t (+6.4%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 12.6 mln t (+5.5%), Vysotsk - 4.7 mln t (+19.9%).
Seaports of the Azov-Black Sea Basin handled 59.1 mln t (+6.6%) including 23.5 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+9.3%) and 35.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+4.9%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 35.3 mln t (+2.2%), Tuapse - 6.7 mln t (+11.6%), Kavkaz - 4.7 mln t (+13.3%), Taman - 3.9 mln t (+31.2%), Kerch - 2.1 mln t (+28.4%), Rostov-on-Don - 2.7 (+16.1) mln t.
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 0.9 mln t (down 47.8%) including 0.6 mln t of dry bulk cargo (-28.0%) and 0.3 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (down 3.3 times). The port of Makhachkala handled 0.3 mln t (down 3.7 times), Astrakhan - 0.6 mln t (down 20.8%), Olya – 46,800 t (down 4.5%).
The ports of the Far East Basin handled 45.9 mln t (+6.4%) including 26.9 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+9.7%) and 19.0 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.1%). Port Vostochny handled 16.9 mln t (+5.6%), Vanino - 7.1 mln t (+0.8%), Nakhodka - 6.0 mln t (+4.3%), Prigorodnoye - 4.7 mln t (+15.9%), Vladivostok - 3.8 mln t (+20.3%), De-Castri - 3.0 mln t (-1.8%). Posiet - 2.0 mln t (-6.2%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
