CITLE offers market entry to western China
The 17th China International Transportation & Logistics Expo (CITLE), which takes place in Chengdu from June 28 to 30, 2017, offers companies of all sizes support to successfully enter the market in western China. In addition to a high-quality conference programme and opportunities to strengthen contacts, special inspection tours of the regional logistics centres also form part of the expo. The “transport logistic Cluster” at Messe München (the Munich exhibition company) is CITLE’s cooperation partner for international exhibitors and acts as a door-opener to the largest trading centre in western China, the event organizer press release said.
Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan Province and has the largest economic output in western China. The Qingbaijiang Industrial Development Zone, which operates as a regional logistics centre for the chemical industry, metallurgy, engineering and building materials sectors, is located very close to the provincial capital. More than 2,000 companies are based at the site that measures about 19 square kilometres.
Exhibitors and visitors to the CITLE will not only have the opportunity to view the Qingbaijiang Industrial Development Zone, but also the adjacent international railway hub with its current maximum handling capacity of seven million tonnes per annum. “So far, there have been five stations and five railway lines especially for the companies that are based locally. The Chengdu Railway Container Center Station and the Chengdu Quingbaijiang Bulk Logistics Park will be built here in the near future and, therefore, create a direct link to the new Silk Road,” explains Gerhard Gerritzen, a member of the management team at Messe München. “The CITLE in Chengdu is a valuable addition to our ‘transport logistic Cluster’ and enables companies to launch their business activities in the Chinese market. Through our foreign exhibitions, such as CITLE, we offer the transport and logistics sector the opportunity to travel around the world with us in twelve months.”
Among the expected 400 exhibitors will be a number of European enterprises, including the Freeport Authorities of Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja, Latvian Railways and A&A Logistic from Latvia, who will be presenting their services and solutions at the joint Latvian stand. “The national stand of Latvia at CITLE 2017 in Chengdu is an excellent opportunity for Chinese and Latvian logistics companies to meet and develop new relationships. Furthermore, the Logistics Secretariat of the China-Central and Eastern Europe Countries 16+1, as established by the Ministry of Transport of Latvia, provides practical mechanisms for CITLE 2017 participants to share information, develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, and thereby promote greater collaboration across the Eurasian continent in accordance with China’s ‘One Belt - One Road’ initiative,” says Helmuts Kols, the Attaché of the Ministry of Transport at the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia to the People’s Republic of China.
“Transport Logistic” around the globe
In addition to the “transport logistic” exhibition in Munich, there are five other events held abroad. Alongside the “transport logistic China” branded event, which is part of the Air Cargo China in Shanghai, Messe München organises the “logitrans International Transport Logistics Exhibition” in Istanbul in conjunction with EKO Fair Limited. It also participates in the CTL in Mumbai and the Transportation & Logistics Americas (TLA) in Atlanta, USA as part of a cooperation arrangement. Messe München cooperates with the Chinese logistics association CCTA within the framework of the “transport logistic China” and provides support at its China International Transportation & Logistics Expo in Chengdu.
