RF Transport Ministry sees prospects of creating dry bulk area of port Taman in 2020-2025
RF Transport Ministry sees the prospects of creating dry bulk area of port Taman on the horizon of 2020-2025, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Victor Olersky, Deputy Minister of Transport – Head of Rosmorrechflot, as saying at the conference “Port Infrastructure of Russia” in Moscow.
According to him, the demand for additional port facilities (50-60 mln t per year) confirmed by the shippers is seen on the above horizon. This demand is not going to be covered by the current projects.
Victor Olersky says this project can only be implemented through private-public partnership.
The project on creation of a dry cargo area at the seaport of Taman provides for construction of sea terminals for transshipment of coal, sulphur, metal, mineral and fertilizers as well as terminals for transshipment of oil-bearing and bean crops. The project has already obtained the state expert approval and the state environmental approval. The port’s design capacity is 91.4 mln t including 46.7 mln t of the first phase which is to be completed by 2020.
The project is to be implemented through private-public partnership including signing of a concession agreement.
