Throughput of port Azov up 1.2% to 738,000 t in Jan-Feb'17
In January-February 2016, seaport of Azov handled 738,000 t (+1.2%, year-on-year), the port Harbour Master Vladimir Bragin told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period, transshipment of oil products grew by 4.9% to 114,000 t, coal – by 14.8% to 102,000 t. Transshipment of grain declined by 2.8% to 473,000 t.
In January-February 2016, internal turnover of Azov seaport was flat, year-on-year, at 729,500 t, exports dropped by 16.4% to 559,000 t, imports doubled to 29,000 t, short-sea traffic – up 3.1 times to 141,500 t. Monthly volume of transit cargoes (not handled a year ago) reached 8,600 tonnes.
The Azov Port Harbourmaster Service in January-February 2017 year registered 199 arrivals and 233 departures.
Port of Azov is situated on the banks of the Don river. It is the main gateway between the Mediterranean Sea with the inland waterways of Russia and the Caspian Sea, for freight flows to the central part of Russia, the Urals and Central Asia. The boundaries of the port's basin include the River Don from the 3151.0-km stretch, the Koysug River to the receiving Buoy No 1 of Azov-Don Sea Canal, including outer anchorage No. 6 and the Calancea bayou to Dugino stop-over point.
