Gothenburg named as the best logistics location in Sweden
For the 16th year in succession, Gothenburg has been named as the best logistics location in Sweden by the trade journal Intelligent Logistik. The deciding factor was that it has the largest port in the Nordic region, with direct deep-sea services and some 25 rail shuttles for the transport of freight, Port of Gothenburg said in its press release.
Apart from the fact that the largest port in the Nordic region is situated in Gothenburg, Intelligent Logistik also highlights the proximity of logistics properties to the port, which now extends to the port facilities at Hisingen. Mention is also made of the environmental focus, the highly efficient transport infrastructure, and leading-edge course programmes and logistics research at Chalmers University of Technology and the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg as further strengths in the region.
The Örebro Region came second in the poll and the Östgöta Region came third.
This high-profile list of the best logistics locations in Sweden has been published since 2001. During the first three years, it was published by the journal Inköp och Logistik before being taken over by Intelligent Logistik.
