NYK named as Best Container Liner by Thai National Shippers' Council
NYK has been selected as the recipient of the 2016 Best Container Liner Award sponsored by the Thai National Shippers' Council (TNSC). NYK, which was evaluated highly for its services, was the only Japanese company to be recognized, the shipping company said in a press release.
This award is given to container liners that are recognized as the best in each route by Thai exporters who evaluate the liners on 14 criteria — including schedule frequency, transit time, on-time delivery, container condition, sales and customer service — for the purpose of improving the service quality of container liners.
NYK received awards for two of the five main routes, i.e., the Thailand-Middle East Asia and Indian Subcontinent route and the Thailand-Far East Asia and ASEAN route.
An awards ceremony was held in Bangkok on September 21 during the 2016 Thailand International Logistics Fair (TILOG). Thailand’s minister of Commerce, Apiradi Tantraporn presented a trophy to Surasak Thienbublertrat, managing director of NYK Line (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Tokyo-headquartered Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) is the largest shipping company in the world, which owns and operates a fleet of over 700 vessels and its own fleet of large containers. The company’s workforce of more than 33,000 employees enables its operations worldwide. Container terminals, warehouses and logistics centers of NYK Line are located in Asia, Europe and North America.
