Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development changes its position on privatization of berths at IWW
With a new head the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has changed its position on privatization of berths at inland water ways of Russia, having supported the proposal of the Transport Ministry, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Victor Olersky, Deputy Transport Minister of Russia – Head of the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot), as saying at the joint meeting of the Board and the Public Council of Rosmorrechflot.
According to him, it was proposed to hand over passenger berths to municipalities or constituent entities of the Federation with the mechanism of targeted privatization to be applied to cargo berths.
“Certain amendments are to be introduced into the laws and we are working with it,” said Victor Olersky.
