Swedish Dockworkers’ Union to impose a ban on new recruitment and overtime at APM Terminals in Gothenburg
During the period November 8 – December 31, the Swedish Dockworkers’ Union will impose a ban on new recruitment and overtime at APM Terminals in Gothenburg.
Between November 15 and 18, the Dockworkers’ Union will also take strike action at APM Terminals. Selective strikes will take place at the following times:
• Tuesday, November 15, 14.00-18.00, 22.00-Wednesday 03.00
• Wednesday, November 16, 06.00-09.00, 14.00-18.00, 22.00-Thursday 03.00
• Thursday, November 17, 09.00-11.00, 15.00-18.00
• Friday, November 18, 09.00-11.00
In addition, the Dockworkers Union has issued notice of sympathy action at other companies at the Port of Gothenburg. The action will take the form of a ban on certain handling of freight and load carriers within the port area.
The Dockworkers’ Union has also issued Ports of Sweden with notice of industrial action. According to the notice, there will be a ban on the handling of freight that has been redirected as a result of the current dispute at APM Terminals in Gothenburg.
The ban comes into effect on November 15, 2016 at 23.00 and will continue until December 31, 24.00.
