On August 1, 2015 a transition of tow caravan consisting of 4 tows and LSP-2 support block complex placed on a floating pontoon started from the seaport of Astrakhan towards the point of destination - V. Filanovsky oil deposit in the Caspian Sea, says Rosmorport.
The Astrakhan Branch pilots in cooperation with the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya VTS operators, as well as specialists of navigation and hydrographic support service of the Branch will ensure safe escort of vessel along the canal.
V. Filanovsky is the largest of all fields discovered in Russia in the past 25 years. It is located in the northern part of the Caspian Sea, 220 km away from Astrakhan. The water depth in this area ranges from 7 to 11 meters. Recoverable reserves amount to 128 million tons of oil and over 41 billion cubic meters of natural and associated gas.
