STS Mir is heading for the Black Sea to take part in SCF Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016
Mir Sailing Training Ship (STS) of FSUE “Rosmorport” has completed participation in Tall Ships Races 2016 and is heading for the Black Sea for participation in SCF Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016, says Rosmorport.
From July 28 to 31, 2016 the sailing ship was in the seaport of Cadiz (Spain), where joint events of FSUE “Rosmorport” and Rossotrudnichestvo were held on its board.
During excursions around the vessel, the sailing ship’s guests got acquainted with its design, cadets’ practice and life. Besides, there were held seminars on “Stereotypes about Russia and Russians: true or false?” and “Russian customs and traditions”. Vessel’s guests, among which was Mayor of the city of Cadiz, had also an opportunity to visit folk music concert.
Cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, which were passing practice on vessel, took part in tug of war competition and a parade of the regatta participants, after which they were awarded in various categories. On Friday, a crew party was held for sailing ships cades and crew.
