Okskaya shipyard launches thirteenth tanker of Project RST27, Balt Flot 14» (photo)
On June 8, 2016, Navashino based Okskaya Shipyard launched the thirteenth tanker of Project RST27, the Balt Blot 14, built for BF Tanker (Hull No 2713), says the shipyard.
The ceremony was attended by the shipyard management, representatives of the city Administration, guests of honor, shipyard employees and citizenz.
Okskaya shipyard and BF signed a contract for construction of 5 vessels including two RST-27 and three RST-54 tankers in September 2015. The contract involving State Transport Leasing Company (STLC PJSC) was signed in the framework of NEVA-2015, the International Maritime Exhibition and Conferences of Russia.
Vessels of project RST27 have a record high block coefficient – 0.93. The lead vessel’s speed on measured mile was 11.7 knots.
The contract sea / river deadweight was thus increased by 50 tonnes. The contract speed – by over a knot.
The construction is supervised by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. Class notation: KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP).
The RST27 vessels of advanced ecological class are being built under survey of RS since 2011 and they are highly appraised by shipowners, maritime administrations and port authorities, as even at the stage of their design additional requirements are applied to prevent pollution in case of emergency. Currently 32 ships of this project operate under RS class.
Among them are the Volgo-Don max class tankers with tonnage of 6930 m2. They are designed for transportation of oil and oil products. A distinctive feature of these vessels is an ability to transport two different kinds of cargo simultaneously.

Okskaya Sudoverf (Shipyard Oka, based in Navashino, Nizhny Novgorod region) was founded in 1907. The modern Okskaya Shipyard OJSC was established through privatization of the state enterprise Navashino Shipyard “Oka”. The shipyard specializes in building multipurpose river and sea-going vessels. In 2015, Okskaya Sudoverf was Russia’s second largest shipyard in terms of total newbuild tonnage.
