Loading of first oil batch commenced at Lukoil’s Varandei export terminal in the Kola Bay
Loading of first oil batch commenced at Lukoil’s Varandei export terminal (Nenets Autonomous District, Timan-Pechora oil&gas province) on April 19, 2016, Sergei Didenko, Head of Western Arctic Sea Ports Administration confirmed to IAA PortNews.
Oil is being transshipped from shuttle tanker Kapitan Gotsky to tanker Proteas (flag of Greece).
Oil transshipment from the second shuttle tanker, the Vasily Dinkov, will commence soon.
Lukoil will test this temporary logistic operation till offshore transshipment facility is launched in Murmansk.
As a source at the Murmansk Region Government told IAA PortNews, first batch is as large as 200,000 t. A possibility to annually transship up to 8 mln t of oil via the Murmansk Region will be considered basing on the current operation results.
