Okskaya Sudoverf shipyard lays keel of Project 21270 boat for RF Ministry of Defence (photo)
On April 15, 2016, Okskaya Sudoverf shipyard laid down the service and crew boat of Project 21270 for the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. The shipyard says the contract for construction of the boat designed by Central Marine Design Bureau “Almaz” was signed in February 2016.
Okskaya Sudoverf will thus build the second boat of Project 21270 for RF Ministry of Defence. The first one was laid down in September 2015 with the launching scheduled for August 2016.
The boat is to be used as a service launch and will be also deployed for inspecting the parades of RF Navy. The vessel will be operate in the Black Sea, in the coastal maritime zone staying within 50 miles from a place of shelter.
The keel-laying ceremony was attended by representative of the Minisry of Defence, Almaz bureau, and shipyard’s business partners under the project.
Okskaya Sudoverf (Shipyard “Oka”) based in Navashino of Nizhny Novgorod region was founded in 1907. The modern Okskaya Shipyard JSC was established through privatization of the state enterprise Navashino Shipyard “Oka”. The firm specializes in building multipurpose river and sea going vessels, container carriers, special ships, barges. The company’s major shareholder is Universal Cargo Logistics Holding B.V. (UCL Holding).
