Vympel Shipyard will build two armament support ships for RF Navy (visualised image)
RF Defence Ministry and vShipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) have signed a contract for construction of two armament support ships of Project 20360М. The ship designed by Vympel design bureau (Nizhny Novgorod) is an adjusted project 20360 known as Dubmyak to comply with the requirements of RF Defence Ministry, the shipyard&RSquo;s press center says.
The ships (Hull No 01551 and Hull 01552) are to be delivered to the customer in 2019 and in 2020 accordingly.
The lead ship (Hull No 01551) will be deployed for the Black Sea, the second ship – for the Baltic Fleet.
Construction of the such a big vessel (length – 77m, width – 15.8 m) is a new challenge for the shipyard, the statement says.
