Container throughput of port Hong Kong (China) down 9.6% to 1.65 mln TEUs in Jan'16
In January 2016, port Hong Kong (China) handled 1.65 mln TEUs (-9.6%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, throughput of the port’s largest terminal Kwai Tsing fell by 9.8% to 1.29 mln TEUs, other terminals handled 360,000 t (-9.1%).
Port Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest ports. It is capable of handling 456,000 vessels per year. In 2015, the port’s container throughput hit 20.11 mln TEUs.
