First tanker with export oil cargo from Novoportovskoye field moored at FSO RPK Nord in Murmansk port (photo release)
Today, January 28 the Malta flagged Ice Condor, first tanker laden with Arctic crude oi moored at the Floating Storage and Offloading Unit "RPK NORD" (FSO NORD) at the Port of Murmansk, the Murmansk Port Authority said.
The Ice Condor will transfer to the FSO RPK NORD a cargo of 16,200 tonnes of crude oil. This is the first cargo of oil produced by Gazprom Neft at Yamal Peninsula Novoprotovsky field and shipped through marine terminal "Novy Port" (Gulf of Ob).
After accumulation on board the FSO RPK NORD the batches of oil will be offloaded to larger tankers for export.
The offshore transshipment facility RPK NORD is expected to export about 12 million tonnes of oil a year.
About RPK NORD
The 300,259dwt "Umba" on 15 January 2016 was deployed at offshore transshipment location (registered as RPK NORD) of the seaport of Murmansk in the Kola Bay. The Umba tanker replaced the FSO Belokamenka that after 12 years of operations in November 2015 left the Russian port and returned to Kirkenes to her Norwegian shipowner. Now the Umba will operate as the FSO RPK NORD for transshipment of Arctic export oil of Gazprom Neft from Novoportovskoye gas condensate field and Prirazlomnaya field.
